Sheraton Vistana Resort: Lake Buena Vista/Orlando You Never Miss

Sheraton Vistana Resort: Lake Buena Vista/Orlando You Never Miss

The Orlando area boasts so many family-friendly resorts that it is difficult to pick just one! Beach weather was erratic on our first trip to the area, so we decided to stay in Central Florida and center ourselves around all of the main attractions like Disney World and Universal Studios. Every last need was met by the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas.

Families will find the Sheraton Vistana Resort a terrific location to relax after a demanding day in Disney parks with cozy accommodations, many pool areas, and complete kitchens.

Location: Next to Disney World

Location: Next to Disney World

The location of the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas is what most appeals to them. A stone's throw from Walt Disney World sits the Sheraton Vistana Resort. Driving to Disney theme parks took us less than ten minutes. 15 minutes or so separate Universal Orlando from here! 4.5 miles separate Seaworld Orlando from the property. Nearest is Orlando International Airport (MCO). MCO is around 22 minutes' driving or 17 miles away.

Two-bedroom apartments

The Sheraton website lists the two-bedroom rooms at 1,025 square feet. With three (and four) children, it seemed so roomy and never cramped! Honestly, I would move right in if the washers and dryers were full-sized. The two-bedroom villas provide a washer/dryer combo, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a dining room table with capacity for six, and a screened-in porch. One finds a couch bed in the living room. Two living rooms of the townhouse units have couch beds.

Flat-screen TVs and free wi-fi abound in resort villas.

The size of the kitchen in the property and its plenty of all the required tools proved also useful. The refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher are full-sized. To be here, you don't have to cut back on food and drink intake. Gas barbecues for visitors to use abound over the property. One evening we produced grilled vegetables, baked potatoes, and steak! Pennies on the dollar, we had a delicious dinner instead of what we would have paid to eat out.

Villas one-bedroom

There are two one-bedroom villas; one is regarded as standard and the other as the "smaller" villa. The smaller villa boasts a kitchen roughly the size of a kitchenette. Certain of the lesser villas lack a balcony. Every villa features king beds in the master bedroom and dining tables. Although we have not lived in a one-bedroom villa, for people with a smaller family they are more reasonably priced. The couch bed lets one-bedroom villas sleep four times over.

Why would one stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort?

Though minutes from International Drive, the Sheraton Vistana Resort is far more reasonably priced than similar Walt Disney World resort hotels. For two people and three children, for instance, I searched generically seven nights in May of 2024. No eating, no tickets, no kitchen in the hotel; $5227 to stay at the Boardwalk at Disney, within walking distance to Epcot. The cost including tax for staying in a 2-bedroom villa at the Sheraton Vistana was $1767. This represents a huge savings! I believe staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort is absolutely worth it regardless of the expense of parking at Disney World.

There is so much the Sheraton Vistana Resort has to offer a whole family. Playing mini-golf, swimming in the resort pools, and striking balls on the tennis courts our family had a terrific day. Every neighborhood of the villas features a nearby playground. We have asked both times to remain in the "Courts" area since we enjoy the playground and the "Falls" pool. Our children developed fondness for the "Cascades" pool on our second vacation, and my husband and I valued the attached Tiki Bar.

We got a leaflet outlining what events will be happening every night at the start of our trip! Review this list of everyday events; many of them were money-saving activities including happy hours and mini-golf deals.

Should there be rain or bad weather, the game room is a great place for youngsters to release some energy.

I particularly liked that the resort features The Market Place, its own store. This is the spot to grab some forgotten sunscreen, a bottle of wine, or a fast supper. One can conveniently stop here for a cup of coffee.

My Review of the Villas at Sheraton Vistana Resort

Our family liked our stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort; so much we returned in 2020 following our first trip in 2018 (CHECK RATES NOW). Young children loved the playground, outdoor pools, and water slides. The screened-in porch and our tranquil master bedroom calmed my husband and me.

I will add, with young children, I like the two-bedroom villa more than the two-bedroom townhouse. Younger siblings or toddlers could try to climb the very slick wooden stairs of the townhouse and risk injury. The open loft made me uneasy as well. Although the townhouses are really large, you can lose in stress what you gain in room. Fun. The one-story 2-bedroom villa included a far more roomy master bedroom.

Since this is a Vacation Club time-share property, the timeshare pitch is unpleasant and most definitely inescapable. I was instructed upon check-in to visit another desk in order to pick my "parking pass." Actually, this was preparing me for trouble with a sales agent who paid $100 to come to the Vacation Club demonstration the next day. I chose not to participate as this was supposed to be the leisure component of our trip, but the woman persisted. This really irritated me; I had three children and a spouse waiting in the van wondering why mom was checking in using AGES.
